About Me
Hi, I'm Brian Cullen — a GIS Analyst, MSc student in Geographic Information Science, and someone who loves turning complex spatial data into meaningful, accessible solutions. I work across GIS automation, field data collection, network analysis, and web-based mapping, with a strong focus on building elegant, reliable workflows.
I'm currently based in Ireland, working in the Environmental Planning & Renewables (EPR) sector of RPS where I support high-impact geospatial projects.
What I Do
With a solid foundation in GIS and programming, I specialize in creating efficient geospatial solutions that streamline workflows and enhance data visualization. My expertise includes:
- GIS Analysis & Mapping
- Python Scripting & Automation
- Web Mapping & Application Development
- Spatial Data Management
My Interests
Beyond my professional work, I'm passionate about exploring the intersection of technology and geography. I enjoy:
- Learning new programming languages and frameworks
- Experimenting with data visualization techniques
- Engaging with the GIS community through forums and meetups
- Staying updated on the latest trends in geospatial technology
Outside of Work
When I'm not immersed in GIS projects, I enjoy:
- I'm a big fan of music, I enjoy playing music and learning new instruments
- I enjoy motor racing, especially Formula 1 and the Le Mans 24hr
- When I'm not coding or analysing maps, you'll probably find me chilling in front of the tv
Fun Facts
Here are a few fun facts about me:
- I have two dogs — their names are Lady and Stella, and they think they own the house (they're probably right)
- The world population the year I was born was roughly 4.85 billion — today it's around 8+ billion, so… a few more neighbours now
- My morning ritual: Coffee. Then more coffee
- I remember life before the internet and I lived through dial-up
